The northern oriole weaves an unbelievable hanging nest using strong fibers like animal hair, grasses, and string. It takes about a week to weave but is very sturdy, so much so that some return to the same nests after winter.
These cute little sand-cast sculptures are created out of old car parts and scrap aluminum collected from garbage dumps in Nicaragua. Using an age-old sand-casting process, the metal is melted down, cast, and then polished to perfection. This little recycled oriole is bound to create a conversation wherever it is displayed.
