Black-capped Chickadee Balsa Ornament

Easily recognized because of the "black cap" this little song bird has quite the memory. They are known to hide their food, sometimes in thousands of places. Yes, they remember every place but what is amazing is as fall approaches, the memory of the past year is wiped to adapt to new changes.

Made out of sustainably harvested balsa wood, these lightweight ornaments are hand-carved and then painted with non-toxic acrylic paint by a cooperative of skilled artisans on Isla Solentiname, Nicaragua. Approximate size: 5" x 2".
