Beaver Balsa Ornament

Beavers are skilled builders. They weave together sticks to build dome-like lodges that are often constructed away from the shore, forming islands that can only be entered from the water. The lodge usually has underwater entrances, with insulated living quarters located in the top above the water line.

Made out of sustainably harvested balsa wood, these lightweight ornaments are hand-carved and then painted with non-toxic acrylic paint by a cooperative of skilled artisans on Isla Solentiname, Nicaragua. Approximate size: 5" x 2".
