Western Box Turtle Balsa Ornament

The western box turtle is also referred to as the North American turtle or the ornate turtle. They are 4-5 inches long. They have a dome-like, dark brown shell with flashy yellow lines stemming from the center (that is why they are also called "ornate").

Made out of sustainably harvested balsa wood, these lightweight ornaments are hand-carved and then painted with non-toxic acrylic paint by a cooperative of skilled artisans on Isla Solentiname, Nicaragua. Approximate size: 5" x 2".
