American Goldfinch Balsa Ornament

The american goldfinch is a vegetarian. This makes them easy to lure to your birdfeeders. They molt in the spring and fall. In the summer, the male is a vibrant yellow, and in the winter they are olive. The females are a dull yellow in the summer and look similar to the males in the winter.

Made out of sustainably harvested balsa wood, these lightweight ornaments are hand-carved and then painted with non-toxic acrylic paint by a cooperative of skilled artisans on Isla Solentiname, Nicaragua. Approximate size: 5" x 2".
