Despite popular belief, most armadillos cannot roll into a complete ball. Actually, only the three-banded armadillo can curl up into a ball. The nine-banded armadillo is the only armadillo found in the US and only in a few places in Texas.
These shiny little sand-cast sculptures are created out of old car parts and scrap aluminum collected from garbage dumps in Nicaragua. Using an age-old sand-casting process, the metal is melted down, cast, and then polished to perfection. This little recycled armadillo is bound to create a conversation wherever it is displayed.
