Armadillo Balsa Ornament

Armadillo means “little armored one” in Spanish. The nine-banded armadillo is the only species known to live in the United States. This species can hold its breath for 6 minutes, walk under water, and run 30 miles per hour.

Made out of sustainably harvested balsa wood, these lightweight ornaments are hand-carved and then painted with non-toxic acrylic paint by a cooperative of skilled artisans on Isla Solentiname, Nicaragua. Approximate size: 5" x 2".
