The olive ridley is the most common sea turtle in the world. They are best known for their nesting habits.. Tens of thousands of turtles come ashore at a time over a few days to lay their eggs around the world. It is called “arribada” or “arrival” in Spanish and takes place on just a few beaches around the world including Costa Rica, Mexico, and India.
These earrings are designed by our artisan partners on Isla Solentiname, Nicaragua. They are hand-carved and hand-painted out of lightweight sustainable balsa wood. Each pair of earrings is carefully carved with a paring knife and then delicately hand-painted with amazing detail. Material: Sustainably harvested balsa wood and non-toxic acrylic paint.
