88 butterflies can be found in Central and South America. The upper wing is brown with metallic blue and the underpart is bright red with black and white markings that look like the number 88, which has become a symbol of prosperity and luck.
Made out of sustainably harvested balsa wood, these lightweight ornaments are hand-carved and then painted with non-toxic acrylic paint by a cooperative of skilled artisans on Isla Solentiname, Nicaragua. Approximate size: 5" x 2".
