Hippo Balsa Ornament

Hippos love water and spend much of the day cooling underwater. It is important for humans to know that they are unpredictable, large, very aggressive, and have powerful teeth. Sadly, Hippotomus are listed as "threatened" due to humanity's impact on their environment.

Made out of sustainably harvested balsa wood, these lightweight ornaments are hand-carved and then painted with non-toxic acrylic paint by a cooperative of skilled artisans on Isla Solentiname, Nicaragua. Approximate size: 5" x 2".
