Koi Fish Balsa Ornament

Koi fish are a member of the carp family. They are very important in Chinese and Japanese cultures, and they are believed to bring good luck and prosperity. They are social, intelligent fish that can even be taught to do tricks. The male and female Koi represent the Yin and Yang.

Made out of sustainably harvested balsa wood, these lightweight ornaments are hand-carved and then painted with non-toxic acrylic paint by a cooperative of skilled artisans on Isla Solentiname, Nicaragua. Approximate size: 5" x 2".
