Leaf-nosed Bat Balsa Ornament

The leaf-nosed bat is only 3 inches long on average. The have big pointy ears and a leaf for a nose, hence the name. They eat insects as well as fruit and they are the only bat known to catch catepillars. They are important pollinators for over 1000 types of plants.

Made out of sustainably harvested balsa wood, these lightweight ornaments are hand-carved and then painted with non-toxic acrylic paint by a cooperative of skilled artisans on Isla Solentiname, Nicaragua. Approximate size: 5" x 2".
