Raccoon Balsa Ornament

The Racoon's facial markings make them look like they are wearing a cute mask. The mask actually has a purpose similar to the black markings you see under football players' eyes during games, which are worn to reduce glare. Racoons are most active at night and this cuts down on the peripheral light, making it easier for them to see in the dark.

Made out of sustainably harvested balsa wood, these lightweight ornaments are hand-carved and then painted with non-toxic acrylic paint by a cooperative of skilled artisans on Isla Solentiname, Nicaragua. Approximate size: 5" x 2".
