Red-winged Blackbird Balsa Ornament

The red and yellow patch on its wing is a dead giveaway for the stunning red-winged blackbird. You can find them in marshes on cattails or brushy swamps. They eat insects like dragonflies, mayflies, moths, or butterflies, as well as snails, spiders, frogs and eggs.

Made out of sustainably harvested balsa wood, these lightweight ornaments are hand-carved and then painted with non-toxic acrylic paint by a cooperative of skilled artisans on Isla Solentiname, Nicaragua. Approximate size: 5" x 2".
