Black Swallowtail Butterfly Balsa Ornament

The black swallowtail butterfly is found in fields and meadows all over North America. Parsnip, dill, carrots and milkweed are some of the plants where their eggs are layed because both the catepillar eats these plants and butteffly eat the nectar from the flowers.

Made out of sustainably harvested balsa wood, these lightweight ornaments are hand-carved and then painted with non-toxic acrylic paint by a cooperative of skilled artisans on Isla Solentiname, Nicaragua. Approximate size: 5" x 2".
