Diamondback Terrapin Balsa Ornament

Which species of turtle is the only one to live in brackish water (a mixture of salt and fresh water)? If you guessed diamondback terrapin, you would be correct! They live in estuaries, marshes, and tidal creeks and their webbed back feet make them excellent swimmers.

Made out of sustainably harvested balsa wood, these lightweight ornaments are hand-carved and then painted with non-toxic acrylic paint by a cooperative of skilled artisans on Isla Solentiname, Nicaragua. Approximate size: 5" x 2".
