Blue Tang Fish Balsa Earrings

Many know the blue tang from the movie Finding Nemo. But, did you know they have razor-sharp, venomous spines on either side of their tails? When they sense danger, they whip their bodies from side to side, threatening to stab predators with their toxin-tipped stingers.

These earrings are designed by our artisan partners on Isla Solentiname, Nicaragua. They are hand-carved and hand-painted out of lightweight sustainable balsa wood. Each pair of earrings is carefully carved with a paring knife and then delicately hand-painted with amazing detail. Material: Sustainably harvested balsa wood and non-toxic acrylic paint.
