Rhinoceros means “nose-horn,” which comes from Ancient Greek words: “rhino” meaning nose, and “ceros” which means horn. Despite their large size, they are very fast! They can run 30-40 mph, and they do this on their toes. Sadly, due to poaching for their horns, all rhinos are considered endangered.
These shiny sand-cast sculptures are created out of old car parts and scrap aluminum collected from garbage dumps in Nicaragua. Using an age-old sand-casting process, the metal is melted down, cast, and then polished to perfection. This recycled rhino is bound to create a conversation wherever it is displayed.
