Bottlenose Dolphin Balsa Ornament

Bottlenose dolphins are considered to be one of the most intellegent animals on the planet and can be found in coastal waters around the world. They grow to be quite large--12 ft and 1000 lbs! They make up to 1,000 clicking noises per second. The sounds travel underwater until they hit an object, then bounce back to the dolphin, revealing details like the location, shape, and size of their target.

Made out of sustainably harvested balsa wood, these lightweight ornaments are hand-carved and then painted with non-toxic acrylic paint by a cooperative of skilled artisans on Isla Solentiname, Nicaragua. Approximate size: 5" x 2".
