Camel Balsa Ornament

This is a one-humped or dromedary camel. They are well -dapted for sand storms with 3 sets of eyelids, 2 rows of eyelashes and the ability to close off their nostrils. They store 80 lbs of fat in a hump, allowing them to last weeks or months without eating.

Made out of sustainably harvested balsa wood, these lightweight ornaments are hand-carved and then painted with non-toxic acrylic paint by a cooperative of skilled artisans on Isla Solentiname, Nicaragua. Approximate size: 5" x 2".
