Red-winged Blackbird Balsa Earrings

The red-winged blackbird weighs no more than 3 ounces and can fly up to 30 miles per hour. Known for being bullies, these birds are also loud. When you hear the call “o-ka-leeee” that’s a red-winged blackbird.

These earrings are designed by our artisan partners on Isla Solentiname, Nicaragua. They are hand-carved and hand-painted out of lightweight sustainable balsa wood. Each pair of earrings is carefully carved with a paring knife and then delicately hand-painted with amazing detail. Material: Sustainably harvested balsa wood and non-toxic acrylic paint.
