Gorilla Balsa Ornament

Gorillas share 98% of our DNA! They are the largest of the primates. They live in "troops" - groups of about 30 gorillas with one dominant male, females, and their young. The silverback (dominant male) will defend his troup with his life. These highly intelligent primates are endangered.

Made out of sustainably harvested balsa wood, these lightweight ornaments are hand-carved and then painted with non-toxic acrylic paint by a cooperative of skilled artisans on Isla Solentiname, Nicaragua. Approximate size: 5" x 2".
