Hammerhead Shark Balsa Ornament

Cephalofoil is what gives the hammerhead Shark its "hammer." The larger the cephalofoil, the better the electroreceptor, which allows them to navigate and detect magnectic fields around their prey. Some hammerheads even use their hammer to stun or hold down their prey.

Made out of sustainably harvested balsa wood, these lightweight ornaments are hand-carved and then painted with non-toxic acrylic paint by a cooperative of skilled artisans on Isla Solentiname, Nicaragua. Approximate size: 5" x 2".
