Humpback Whale Balsa Ornament

Humpback whales are baleen whales, meaning they have baleen plates instead of teeth that act like a sieve to separate krill from water. These aquatic acrobats love to jump out of the water and spin around (breach).

Made out of sustainably harvested balsa wood, these lightweight ornaments are hand-carved and then painted with non-toxic acrylic paint by a cooperative of skilled artisans on Isla Solentiname, Nicaragua. Approximate size: 5" x 2".
