Loggerhead Turtle Balsa Ornament

Loggerhead turtles have a very stong jaw to eat crustaceans, and they also eat lots of jellyfish. Once it reaches maturity, the female loggerhead will travel thousands of miles to return to the same beach where it was born. It takes 39 years to reach maturity, so there may be a long journey ahead of her!

Made out of sustainably harvested balsa wood, these lightweight ornaments are hand-carved and then painted with non-toxic acrylic paint by a cooperative of skilled artisans on Isla Solentiname, Nicaragua. Approximate size: 5" x 2".
