Olive Ridley Turtle Balsa Ornament

The olive ridley turtle is one of the smallest but most plentiful sea turtles in our oceans, at about 2.5 feet and 90 lbs. They have an olive green, heart-shaped shell and are sadly considered endangered due to climate change, boat injuries, and overfishing.

Made out of sustainably harvested balsa wood, these lightweight ornaments are hand-carved and then painted with non-toxic acrylic paint by a cooperative of skilled artisans on Isla Solentiname, Nicaragua. Approximate size: 5" x 2".
