California Sea Lion Balsa Ornament

California sea lions are mammals that breath oxygen. They are swimmers and can hold their breath for up to 10 minutes while hunting. They have 34 to 38 teeth but swallow their food whole. The teeth help them to grab onto the slippery fish. The sea lions in California are friendly because they are used to people being around them and even feeding them.

Made out of sustainably harvested balsa wood, these lightweight ornaments are hand-carved and then painted with non-toxic acrylic paint by a cooperative of skilled artisans on Isla Solentiname, Nicaragua. Approximate size: 5" x 2".
