Tufted Titmouse Balsa Ornament

This little grey bird with big black eyes is a regular at the birdfeeder. They are cavitiy dwellers but can't excavate their own dwellings, so they take over abandoned ones. Tufted titmice often line their nest with hair. The types of hair they use include raccoon, opossum, mouse, woodchuck, squirrel, rabbit, livestock, pet, and even human hair.

Made out of sustainably harvested balsa wood, these lightweight ornaments are hand-carved and then painted with non-toxic acrylic paint by a cooperative of skilled artisans on Isla Solentiname, Nicaragua. Approximate size: 5" x 2".
