Artisans from a women’s cooperative in Nepal collect discarded saris (dresses) from India and turn them into beautiful scrunchies, totes, coin purses, skirts, scarves, and more. We have included a lovely tote bag, three scrunchies, a hand-woven coin purse, and a kantha coin purse in this hip box. A women’s cooperative in Ecuador collects broken window pane glass to create colorful fused glass jewelry. Included in this box are our popular diamond glass earrings. And just for fun, we have included a balsa wood hand-carved fox from Nicaragua to sit on a shelf or hang on a tree. By reusing materials, the artisans are able to keep their costs down while creating lovely upcycled pieces that allow them to provide for their families. It is hip to be sustainable.
